Logitech Headset Ventrilo

Humming sound with Ventrilo?

Everytime i talk in ventrilo there is a humming sound in my background that i cant get to go away.

I'm using a Logitech USB headset and im running Vista 32bit

Anyone know how to fix this?

try this:

Uninstall the usb headset and then plug it into a different usb slot, if you have a front usb slot try there, if its in a front try the back, if you only have 1 place just swap it into another slot ultimately. reinstall the drivers and restart the computer.(to uninstall open device manager abnd right clikc and click uninstall. open control panel and go to sounds and devices. mess with the booster for the USB headset.

Problems with headset?

I have a Logitech USB headset with mic, the problem is that I can use my WinAmp fine but i can't leave the slider bar in the middle, it has to be on Left or Right ear for me to hear it, if not it sounds all funny. Also I have issues even using the headphones in Ventrilo (chat server) I cant hear no body in there. What could be the problem and how can I fix it, these headphone were not that cheap. Help?

Go into your computers sound options, in the control panel. Plug your headphones in and they should pop-up as where the sound should be now routed to. Open their properties by right clicking the device (headphones) Then view the "Levels" tab or any other tab that has to do with sound, and check the levels in there make sure they are set high enough. Now for A specific program, you must go into their controls tab- Ventrilo for instance much be set-up to broadcast the sound into the headphones instead of the speakers, since it does not autotomatically change the sound to them when you plug the headphones in. Open vent click setup *after you choose a user, each settings for a user are different* then in the main tab (voice) go to the right and change to where it says output device to which ever you want, head phones or speaker, and the Input device to your microphone.
These settings should be exactly the same for any other voice talking software eg: yahoo messenger, skype etc.

Goodluck hopes this helps
