Which headset works best with the Astro MixAmp?

I've been recently saving up money to buy a gaming headset. My first priority will be the mix amp Astro Gaming sells for $129. Now, I know Astro Gaming sells the headset/mix amp combo for $250, but I was wondering if there's a better and cheaper combo to go with like a Tritton or a Sennheiser. I'm getting an optical cable for my PS3 so my main concern is true surround. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

I would recommend either the Speedlink Medusa NX or the Tritton AX Pro 5.1. Both should work with the Astro MixAmp.

Both of these models have great 5.1 sound quality as well as excellent microphones. The Medusa NX is not as expensive as the Tritton AX Pro 5.1, but it also does not have as many other features and connection options. Both have a USB connection as well.
