The Samsung Instinct and the Apple iphone?

which is better and why? I have Sprint service right now, but my contract will be up soon. Why is the Apple iphone any better?

Also, does anybody know if the Samsung Instinct uses voice recognition software? When I use my blue tooth on my current Samsung phone, it is announced to me who is calling based on my contacts. It will also speak out numbers from the caller ID, or if the number is blocked it will tell me it is a restricted number. This is a great feature when you are on the road driving and don't want to fumble for your phone. It also helps me screen calls when I am hands free.

I have the Instinct, my husband has the iPhone. I prefer his phone to mine. The Instinct will still announce who is calling, without the blue tooth even. The Instinct has a lot of bugs and flaws to work out, where as the iPhone has pretty much worked all of theirs out. Sprint is not in a big hurry to fix or update the Instinct, where as the iPhone has a lot of updates and knick-knacks. The Instinct has a lot of sensitivity in the screen, so you're constantly muting your callers on accident or opening up your dial screen and beeping with your face on accident, the iPhone has scroll option (you have to move your finger to the right to open, etc). Good luck!!

Most people by now have experienced at least one automated phone system, where questions are posed by a computer to callers seeking help or information, and the callers' spoken answers are understood and acted on by that computer. In the best cases, the computer even sounds human!/ppGiven the rapid emergence of these applications, the time seems right for a concise overview of the topic—a guide for business managers looking for new and better ways to engage and service their customers, a resource for designers getting started with voice applications (or refreshing their current knowledge), a good read for anyone interested in this exciting technology. Having built applications in many of these industries, I feel well-positioned, and eager, to explain important aspects of the art and business of speech recognition, and to illuminate the extraordinary returns a well-designed and well-deployed over-the-phone system can yield—increased revenues, lower costs, customer satisfaction and retention, and brand development. The 2007-2012 Outlook For Voice-Recognition Dictation Software In Japa

The 2007-2012 Outlook For Voice-Recognition Dictation Software In Japa

$609

This study covers the latent demand outlook for voice-recognition dictation software across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of its prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-`-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for voice-recognition dictation software. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

The 2006 Economic And Product Market Databook For Santa Maria, Brazil

The 2006 Economic And Product Market Databook For Santa Maria, Brazil

$129

In performing various economic analyses for its clients, I have occasionally been asked to investigate the market potential for various products and services in Brazil. The purpose of this study is to understand the density of demand within Brazil and the extent to which Santa Maria might be used as a point of distribution within Latin America. From an economic perspective, however, Santa Maria does not represent a population within rigid geographical boundaries, rather, it represents an area of dominant influence over markets in adjacent areas. This influence varies from one industry to another, but also from one period of time to another. In what follows, I summarize the economic potential for Santa Maria over the next five years for hundreds of industries, categories and products. The goal of this report is to report the real economic potential, or what an economist calls the latent demand, represented by Santa Maria when defined as an area of dominant influence. The reader needs to realize that latent demand may or may not represent real sales. For many items, latent demand is clearly observable in sales, as in the case for food or housing items. Consider, however, the category satellite launch vehicles. Clearly, there are no launch pads in Santa Maria used by the space industry to launch satellites. However, the core benefit of the vehicles (e.g. telecommunications, etc.) is consumed by the area served by Santa Maria. Without Santa Maria, in other words, the market for satellite launch vehicles would be lower for the population in Brazil, Latin America, or the world in general. One needs to allocate, therefore, a portion of the worldwide economic demand for launch vehicles to both Latin America and Santa Maria. The data presented are the result of various spatial econometric and time-series forecasting models which, for each category presented, are applied to forecast and allocate demand across all countries of the world and major distribution centers or@`

Speech Recognition: Theory and C++ Implementation

Speech Recognition: Theory and C++ Implementation

$115.89

Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) is the enabling technology for hands-free dictation and voice-triggered computer menus. It is becoming increasingly prevalent in environments such as private telephone exchanges and real-time information services. Speech Recognition introduces the principles of ASR systems, including the theory and implementation issues behind multi-speaker continuous speech recognition. Focusing on the algorithms employed in commercial and laboratory systems, the treatment enables the reader to devise practical solutions for ASR system problems. It addresses in detail C++ programming techniques used to develop ASR applications, thus offering skills that will prove useful in any large C++ based software project. Possible extensions of the well-established ASR technology are highlighted, based on Hidden Markov Models applied to fields such as modelling and prediction of econometric series. Features include:
* Accompanying website containing all C++ source code of a complete laboratory multi-speaker continuous-speech ASR system (e.g. Initialisation, Training, Recognition, Evaluation, etc.) www.wiley.com/go/becchetti_speech
* Detailed theoretical, mathematical and technical explanations of ASR
* A practical account of the functioning of ASR
A crucial source of information for researchers, developers and project managers involved with ASR systems, Speech Recognition is also structured for use by students of digital signal processing, speech recognition and C++ programming techniques.Statistical Speech Recognition.

Speech Database.

Speech Signal Analysis.

HMMs and Initialization.

HMM Training.

Language Models.

Recognition.

Evaluation and Parameter Setting.

References.

Index.Speech @\øõÂ?\)ÿ¾Úð
